  1. But How about already installed themes
I want to add a theme that I already downloaded.
I tried deleting browsing history and re installing but it doesn't show add option.

    Where do I find this???

  2. Themes downloaded from the Chrome Store can not be stored in computer. If you want to apply the theme which you liked in the past, you need to go back to the Theme page in chrome store and "Add to chrome" again.
If you are talking about theme which you downloaded outside chrome web store then also you need to find that again and apply that theme to your browser.

  3. I'm thinking that I'll bookmark each theme I like so I don't have to browse through dozens to find the ones I already downloaded. Just a thought. Now, does anyone know how to get the little link boxes back after clicking the X and closing them all at once?

  5. Anonymous -- I just had the same problem. I had Beautiful Forest installed but for some reason, Chrome was showing my old theme. Beautiful Forest was still showing that it was installed though. Once I clicked RESET TO DEFAULT THEME in Chrome's settings, Beautiful Forest then showed ADD TO CHROME. Maybe clicking the reset will help you as well.

    3. I used to have a theme and my "new tab" would show the theme pic as well as the tabs. One day I noticed it was gone. I went back and added the theme, but this time I only see it on my tabs and not my fresh new tabs....I cannot figure out what is wrong!!! Very frustrated!! Also once I added a theme, where do I go to find them?

    4. Hello All Who Have This Problem,
This is a problem I've had for nearly a year and couldn't fix no matter how many questions and answers I browsed in these google forums. But today I managed to fix it! I am really glad.
You don't need to do anything technical at all. What I did was disable every single extension I have installed: do this going to settings (click the 3 bars in top right; settings; extensions (it's top left) )
Once all extensions have been disabled, open a new tab and you should see your preferred theme image. :) This is how I managed it. I hope it works for you.
If this does the trick, you can then go back to your extensions and enable each one; but checking that your theme still appears in a new tab.
      Good Luck!

I was going nuts trying to get it back one morning, I thought it was something I did, but it wasn't that at all. In fact it was something a friend told me just a little while ago...Google Chrome sucks...

  30. WHEN YOU ADD A THEME, RESTART YOUR CHROME AND TADAAA!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  31. 1) Go to the previously downloaded theme on the extensions page (it shows as installed with a RATE IT button)

    2) Click the share link. Share via GMAIL.

    3) A compose window will open with a text message like this:

Check out "bloomind ct deepdark": https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/bloomind-ct-deepdark/djolekdiiojehgfggcjckachfgkkdmjd?utm_source=gmail

    4) Delete the folder in your google-chrome/Default directory named "djolekdiiojehgfggcjckachfgkkdmjd" (citing the example above).

    5) Restart the broswer. You can now re-download the theme from the extensions page.

    Kludgy, but it does work.

    1. I have the same problem. I added "marchin on" as my theme and then I had another problem in which I had to reset my chrome settings. After that I have been unable to install "marchin on" as my theme since it still is set to be installed but whenever I reset the shit it's the default white theme that appears and not the one I want.
So yeah I am pretty fucked. I have started to really hate Google after all this. It all started when Google decided that I was apperantly German and nothing I did could change that setting (translating alot of websites to German and stuff) and now I'm here. Seriously.. WHY THE FUCK does things like this HAVE to be soooo fucking complicated. It should be MY choice what theme I want or what language/country I want to be from on the internet but nooooo Google chooses that FOR me and allows me to do shit about it. I have tried everything except prostitution and murder to get my old settings back but nothing works. I fuck hate this shit.

  39. I installed your "Cosmopolise" theme. Very nice. Thank you!. First tab in my Bookmarks bar is "Apps". When I press it - the new tab opens with Cosmopolise theme, the list of applications and the "Chrome - Apps - Web Store" ribbon at the bottom. But when I press the usual "New tab" button at the top or insert Ctrl+T - the new tab opens without the "Chrome... " bottom ribbon. How can I make it function as "Apps" button? Some time before, I think, it worked exactly so.
